ARAC is one 60 European cultural institutions joining to form an “Alliance of Academies” on the initiative of the Academy of Arts, Berlin. Together we stand for the right to freedom of art throughout Europe, which is stipulated in Article 13 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
 
 

The European Alliance of the Academis aims at initiating a network of art academies and cultural institutions across Europe – a transnational collaboration that advocates for the freedom of the arts. ARAC is a non-profit organization founded in June 2012, in order to produce and promote contemporary art in Romania and abroad. The initiative of the 58 Plantelor Residency belongs to Anca Poterasu, gallerist and ARAC President. The first edition of the Residency took place in 2015 and it was financed through a grant offered by Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the Romanian Government.
